Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have experience with SEN (special educational needs) students?

Yes. Students with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning differences can work very effectively online. Every child is unique, so let’s arrange a phone call to discuss your child’s specific needs and how lessons can be adapted.

Do you tutor students studying in the Middle East?

Absolutely. Many of my students are based in Dubai, the UAE and wider Middle East, and I am open to working with students from any country. Lesson times are arranged to fit your local time zone.

Which GCSE exam boards do you teach?

I tutor students following AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge (CIE) GCSE and IGCSE English Language and Literature courses. If you are unsure which board your child’s school uses, I can help you check and tailor lessons accordingly.

How do online lessons work?

It’s simple: you receive a Google Meet link, and we work together on a shared Google Doc where all of your child’s work, feedback and resources are organised in one place. This gives students a clear record of their learning and makes it easy to revisit past essays and targets.

How long are your lessons?

Lessons range from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on your child’s age, needs and schedule. Many GCSE and IB students choose a weekly 60‑minute session, with the option of extra lessons in the run‑up to exams.

How do you help students improve essay grades?

Students improve through clear, broken‑down strategies, targeted resources and the right level of scaffolding and challenge. We practise planning and writing under realistic conditions, then use detailed feedback to make each new essay stronger than the last.
